Yahoo!: House Price Centre

Yahoo! asked POKE to create a web app showcasing their newly-licensed Land Registry historical household sale data. We made a dynamic, data-driven visual heat-map of house prices and trends, building the HTML & Flash front-end in-house, and working with a technology partner to create the Perl/PostgreSQL back-end. Four million people piled through in the first month.

This was my first major delivery as tech director at POKE. I assessed, selected and managed an external technology partner in delivering the back-end database system, directed the internal team in creating and building the front-end, organised and managed end-to-end integration, and worked with Yahoo's systems team to deploy it to their hosting environment.
